A free public art gallery in a small New Brunswick town — and not a small gallery, either. The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery is a non-profit, community-supported space that hosts about nine exhibitions a year.
Shows range from pieces on loan from the National Gallery of Canada to the work of Atlantic Canadian artists in traditional and experimental media, to exhibitions by local school children. Workshops, seasonal festivals, and children’s events round out the programming.
The gallery is housed in the Andrew & Laura McCain Library building in downtown Florenceville. Beautifully lit and thoughtfully displayed — visitors who attend openings get to hear artists speak about their work. A genuine cultural gem in the valley.
