Fall
Every fall, Castor becomes a front-row seat to one of the prairies’ great wildlife spectacles. The town’s territory includes many stopping points that are well frequented by migrating ducks and geese.
Castor Creek and the surrounding wetlands draw thousands of waterfowl during the autumn migration. Birdwatchers and photographers will find plenty to see from the creek banks, the park trails, and the surrounding fields.
The town’s name, Castor, is the French (and Latin) word for beaver — but in autumn, it’s the birds that steal the show.
